Providing a Safe Haven for Veterans, First Responders, and Families in Need Transitioning to Civilian Life

Our goal is to shine a light on the challenges faced by our veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders on a daily basis, and to support them as they navigate these challenges. We do this by offering veterans affairs assistance, guided hunts, resource referrals, lodging, and meaningful connections and peer support among Veterans, First Responders, Service Members, and their families.

Stories

A bridge between us is an organization created by two people who have given their lives in the service of others. As a prior service member, and wife to one, they understand the meaning of family; and how we as injured veterans have to face being separated from our military brothers and sisters after our service ends. I have participated in many different organizations since my devastating injury over twenty years ago.

When you leave the military it’s more than taking off the uniform. It’s leaving a brother/sisterhood of order and discipline, letting go of something larger than yourself. You’ve spent some or all your adult life serving the nation, you’ve been places and experienced things that 93% of the population won’t.

What our future looks like

  • We have plans to add 25 small homes for veterans, firefighters, police and first responders who are transitioning to the civilian life after retirement. We have had 1 cabin donated in 2025 and are continuing to apply for grants for funding.

  • Adding a butcher house with a walk-in cooler that was donated in 2025
